Questions and answers
Answers to questions about prices, setup, the live ticker and the scoreboard.
How much does a tournament cost?
Your first tournament comes at the introductory price of 49,99 € instead of 59,99 €. Every further tournament costs 59,99 €.
The introductory price applies only once per account, to the first licence.
No VAT is charged (§ 19 German VAT Act).
Do I have to pay before setting up?
No. Setting up a tournament, building the schedule and trying everything out costs nothing. You only pay once the tournament is to go live.
You buy the licence under “Buy licence”. Payment is by bank transfer in advance.
As soon as the payment has been confirmed, we activate the licence.
A licence covers exactly one tournament with no time limit. It is used up when you first activate an area.
What does the connection to TourneyFlow Scoring cost?
The cloud connection for TourneyFlow Scoring costs 25,00 € once per tournament.
This licence requires a valid licence for TourneyFlow Scoring. The scoring software is not included and is purchased separately. Without it the tournament cannot be run.
It does not include live control in the browser.
How do I set up a tournament?
Register for free and create your tournament under “Create tournament”. Choose the sport.
In the Teams tab you import the teams. In the Rounds tab you create the group stage and, if you want, the intermediate round and the knockout bracket.
In the Schedule tab you set the start times and courts.
What is a bye?
A knockout bracket always needs a power of two: 4, 8, 16 or 32 places. If you have fewer teams, places stay empty. Whoever draws such an empty place as an opponent gets a bye – and moves on to the next round without playing.
That is an advantage: the team saves a match and is rested. You decide who gets it. In the Rounds tab, enter “Bye” as the opponent, for example 1A - Bye.
On the spectator page, a bye appears without a result – after all, nothing was played.
Which sports are there, and how are matches scored?
There are 7 sports to choose from. Points for win / draw / loss: Handball 2 / 1 / 0 · Football 3 / 1 / 0 · Volleyball 3 / 0 / 0 · Tennis 2 / 0 / 0 · Table tennis 2 / 0 / 0 · Foosball 3 / 0 / 0 · Air hockey 3 / 0 / 0.
Volleyball, Tennis and Table tennis are scored by sets, all others by goals.
How is a tie in the standings decided?
The default order is: Head-to-head → Goal difference → More goals scored.
The head-to-head comparison only counts the matches between the teams that are level on points.
You set the order for each tournament in the Settings tab. For set sports (Volleyball, Tennis and Table tennis), the set ratio counts instead of the goal difference: sets won divided by sets lost. For “More goals scored”, the sets won count there.
How do I make my tournament visible to spectators?
In the Publishing tab you release the areas one at a time: schedule, results, standings, live ticker, scoreboard and total number of goals. With “Publish everything” all of them are on at once.
As soon as one area is on, the tab shows the public link and a QR code. You can print the QR code and hang it up in the hall. Spectators do not need to log in.
How up to date is the page for spectators?
The page for spectators refreshes itself at a fixed interval. You set the interval in the Scoreboard tab. Right after a final whistle it loads again once. Anyone who does not want to wait taps “Refresh now”.
When no match is running at the moment, the page asks less often.
How does the scoreboard work in the hall?
The scoreboard runs in the browser on a laptop that you connect to the projector or the hall TV. It refreshes at a short interval. You set the interval in the Scoreboard tab.
If the network fails, the display keeps counting seconds on its own. A running game clock keeps counting. As soon as the network is back, the scoreboard catches up with the current score.
The scoreboard is controlled from the control panel, that is, in the Live control tab. You will find the scoreboard link in the Publishing tab as soon as an area is on.
How do I connect TourneyFlow Scoring to the cloud?
In the Publishing tab you create a display key. It applies to this one tournament only.
Paste it into TourneyFlow Scoring under “Online display”. The address there: https://handball-cloud.tourneyflow.de/api/push.php
After that, the software sends the schedule, score, clock and penalties to the cloud itself. You do not have to enter anything twice.
When the software sends the schedule it replaces the group-stage plan here on the web. The knockout bracket stays as it is.
My display key has fallen into the wrong hands. What do I do?
Anyone with the key can change the score and schedule of this tournament. Then issue a new key in the Publishing tab with “Issue a new key”.
The previous key stops working immediately. The scoring software will only send again once you enter the new one there.
How do I take the tournament offline again?
In the Publishing tab, “Take everything offline” removes all areas at once.
Spectators will see nothing – no schedule, ticker or scoreboard. You can publish again at any time.
How long does the tournament stay public?
Publishing ends 14 days after the end date. After that you will find the tournament in your history.
What happens to my data after the tournament?
After the public display ends, the tournament is not deleted. It stays in your account under “History”.
You can delete tournament data yourself at any time.
Published tournament pages can be viewed without logging in. So only publish data that you are entitled to publish.
More on this in the Privacy policy.
Can I download the results as an Excel file?
The Excel file is downloaded from the Schedule tab. It contains the schedule with results, the teams, the standings per category and group, and the key details of the tournament.
The goal scorers sheet is only included if you switch on “Record scorer number for goals” in the Settings tab and goal scorers have been entered.
Only the logged-in owner of the tournament can download the file.
